mptoms of allergic rhinitis such as runny & stuffed nose, blockage in airways, sneezing, itching, watery eyes and other allergic symptoms. It works by blocking the production of chemicals responsible for producing symptoms of allergy. Montelukast+Fexofenadine is available in the form of tablets, syrup, suspension, chewable tablets. Before using this medicine, inform the doctor if you are pregnant, planning a pregnancy or breastfeeding and about your detailed medical history.

Mode of Action of Montelukast+Fexofenadine

How Does It Work?

Montelukast acts by blocking the action of allergic mediator leukotrienes by binding to leukotriene receptors and helps in relieving the symptoms of allergy.
Fexofenadine acts by blocking the action of the natural substance histamine which is produced by the body during allergic reactions.

Interactions of Montelukast+Fexofenadine

Interactions with other medicines

Some medicines can affect the way montelukast+fexofenadine works or this medicine itself can reduce the effectiveness of other medicines taken at the same time.
Tell your doctor about all the medicines, supplements or herbals you are currently taking or might take to avoid any possible interaction.
Especially if you are taking antibiotics, antifungals or medicines to treat your heart problems, psychiatric illnesses.
There should be a minimum gap of 2 hours between the administration of montelukast+fexofenadine and antacid medicines containing aluminium and magnesium
Medicines that act on the brain to produce calmness if taken along with this tablet may reduce the alertness and impairment of the performance.
Other medicines such as phenobarbital, phenytoin, rifampin and gemfibrozil should be used cautiously.
